Clumber Park 10k 28/09/2008

Over 750 runners, including several members of Mablethorpe Running Club, took part in the recent Clumber 10k on Sunday 28th September. Despite a wet start to the day by the time the race started it was ideal conditions for running around the undulating picturesque course, which is set completely within the grounds of the National Trust's Clumber Park.

Andrew Ward from Clowne Road Runners won the men's race in 32:16; First female home was Kimberley Looms from Charnwood AC in 39:16. The first Mablethorpe runner to finish was Wayne Kew in a time of 41:56, followed closely by Mick Casey in 42:15 to claim 2nd place in the MV60 category. Ross Kew was 3rd club member home in a good time of 44:45, although he was clearly disappointed to end his excellent run of 15 consecutive PB's. Performance of the day for the Mablethorpe team must go to Denzil Phillips who smashed his own PB by 36 secs finishing in 45:04.

First female club runner home was Debbie Kew in 58:24 followed by Lindsey Phillips in 1:00:08. Amanda Woodham was the final Mablethorpe runner to complete the course, finishing in a respectable time of 1:04:13. Well done to all Mablethorpe Running Club members taking part.
