Louth Run for Life 2008

Louth race for life was a great turnout with the club well represented right across the age spectrum.
First up was the junior race where we were represented by Oliver Lammiman in a personal best 4mins 25 secs and Aiden Love and Emily Kew (unfortunately i do not have times but if you let me know i will amend this).
Next up was the ladies event, with Janine Stones leading home Mablethorpe and indeed the whole field in her flowing, effortless style in 19.31. Next home was Sheryl Thorpe finishing strongly to record an excellent 23.31 PB. Next in was Jackie Love road testing her new go faster shorts (sorry once again no time). There then followed a closely fought 3 way tussle with Lindsey Phillips narrowly outsprinting my boss, oops sorry,i mean Jill Johnson with 27.43 and 27.45 respectively. Breathing down their necks was Debbie Kew in 27.50 all 3 recording personal bests. After this came Amanda Woodham in another p.b of 29.23 followed by Jane Lammiman in a p.b 31.26, Coral Dolman in 32.45 and Jo Wilson in a p.b of 34.14. Next was Zoe Bloomfield and Margaret Kew in 54.10. Completing the ladies line up was 'granny' Hadden who at the youthful and tender age of 90 crossed the finishing line to well deserved applause from the spectators in 1hr 12 mins beating many half her age and accompanied all the way round by granddaughter Katrina Simons. excellent performances all Exclamation Very Happy Very Happy
Now to the mens event and it was a case of "gladiators ready" as Richard Brown from Louth AC headed home the mens race. Ross Kew having overcome his pre race interview nerves and uncharacteristic shyness rampaged towards the line to record a p.b of 19.54 hot on his heels came Rob Hawse with an excellent 19.56 p.b. Next man home was chairman Wayne Kew in 20.21 showing a welcome return to fitness. Daniel Lammiman showing great promise came in with a 21.26 p.b followed by Denzil 'the juggernaut' Phillips in a strong 22.21 p.b. Completing the mens line up was Jason Woodham showing his potential with a p.b 26.08.
All in all a great day for the club with some great performances.
Afterwards all adjourned to the 'splash' at Little Cawthorpe for some much deserved nourishment and refreshment.at this point I most humbly grovel and apologise to anyone who i may have missed out or goofed up on their name.
You've been a wonderful audience and so its goodnight from me and erm its goodnight from..................
